Educational programmes
Sentenashi Karate has one of the most innovative and effective junior programmes in the UK. Combining the latest and most effective coaching methods they are specially designed to introduce young children to Karate and the fun that comes from learning a traditional martial art.
The goal of these 45-60 minute classes is to nurture our younger students in a safe environment that allows their abilities and character to develop whilst learning respect and gaining confidence, utilising a game sense approach to coaching, children are introduced to the fascinating world of martial arts training. The aim is to develop skills essential for children to reach their full potential in life. These sessions not only help develop hand and eye co-ordination motor skills, they also expose children to the correct morals and values that they will need throughout life, your child’s success is assured.
We have an extensive mentoring programme that is attached to the coaching, as part of the school package. We adapt our programme to each individual school depending on their needs. We will work hands-on to meet the needs best suited, so the school and students fully benefit from the Martial arts and mentoring.
Pre-Preparatory (5 - 7 years)
Sentenashi Karate is committed to helping children gain the unique character building tools found only in martial arts training. We believe no other activity or sport can match this.
This programme is a detailed curriculum that focuses on improving children’s basic listening, recognition, and motor skills. These skills will help them gain a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students at school, better listeners at home and more ambitious towards the future.
We believe the time between the ages of 3-7 is the most important stage of a child’s development. However, we recognise that 5-7-year olds have different development needs than the older kids in our Junior Programme. This curriculum will enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way.
Junior (7 - 11 years)
This programme is a detailed curriculum that focuses on improving not only basic motor skills, listening, and life skills, but challenges the student by adding more of the traditional martial arts training and increasing the level of intensity. Martial arts aren’t just about physical skills, it’s also about developing characters.
In addition to learning focus, teamwork, control, balance, memory, discipline, fitness and coordination, children will learn the basic martial arts skills that will enhance their future martial arts training. This training will also improve their ability to do sports and other activities, much more so than children that do not participate in this type of program. Children with special needs, such as ADD (attention deficit disorder) learning difficulties and hyperactivity are often recommended to participate in martial arts for kids because of the clear benefits in its structured training techniques.
Teen (12 - 16 years)
It is more challenging than ever to be a teenager today. Fear and distractions seem to be at an all-time high, and out media-savvy kids are well aware of it. Out programme strives to provide our teens with the self-confidence, self-esteem and focus they need to make it in today’s world. Sentenashi Karate is a safe and positive environment, providing a fun activity driven atmosphere where those with common interests can join together in physically rewarding and mentally challenging activities.
Our courses also develop positive character traits such as perseverance, goal setting, honour and discipline. Students find that our Karate programme is high energy, exciting and motivating, they will enjoy the workout as well as the lifelong friendships that are built exercising and training with people who have similar goals.
Parents and teachers often report that after attending our sessions, their children are more focused and attentive during their daily lives at home and at school.
We have our own syllabus but use many traditions of Japanese karate.
We are currently in many schools across the West.
